Well it's a new year. I'm not going to go into one of those resolution posts like EVERYONE ELSE on the internet. I just hope to continue trends that started last year.
- I'm a week away from my one year anniversary at my current job. I like this place and a golden chance for advancement is practically being handed to me on a silver platter, it's just up to me to not screw it up.
- The height of all the drama is now nearly 6 months behind me. I guess I'll never know why I obsessed for so long, because the other party involved sure as hell ain't worth obsessing over. I did learn in some cases who is and who isn't a friend. The friends are the one's who didn't turn their backs on me after hearing only one highly exaggerated side of the story.
- I'm closing in on 9 MONTHS smoke free!! I honestly can't even imagine that that nasty habit held me in it's grip for 15 long years. I certainly do feel better and find cigarette odor highly disgusting.
I do have a couple goals for thr short term. One of course is my overall health. Quitting smoking was a big step, but I could still stand to lose a pound or fifty, and I really need to get some dental work completed before it leads to more serious issues. Another is to become a homeowner in the next year or two. I have a decent down payment socked away, now I just need to be comfortable with handling the expenses associated with owning a home.
Not much else to report. The NFL Playoffs are underway, and Da Bears are the #1 seed in the NFC. let's just hope that good Rex shows up and that the defense can pull their heads outta their asses long enough to win their first Super Bowl in 21 years. Of course NFL playoff time also means it's merely a month until racing season is back in full swing, in fact the Rolex 24 at Daytona is just 2 1/2 weeks away.
